ZUZU is a given name of an adorable baby boy “Zayb(Jaazeb Zubeen Rahman)” and the name Zuzu was chosen by his only young & most handsome uncle Abi (Shamsher M) who was the only sibling of the Jewelry Artist ~ Shama. Abi never got a chance to meet Zayb in person due to the sudden incident of his abrupt departure from the world. She created a lot of unique design in the name of his brother since 1999. Shamsia designed a very unique set of jewelry on 1997 for herself. Also, Shama is inspired to design some of her exclusive jewelry in the memory of her beloved brother Abi who was an excellent human being. The idea of designing exclusive Jewelry begun when Shama wanted to create something very unique for the dream wedding of her only sibling. She prepared an exclusive CATALOG but her dream has been shattered on november 2005. Shama decided to create something for the public who will enjoy her creativity & Abi’s memory will be alive through her art & ©Zuzu’s Pearl in Shell was established by her on 2006.

Each piece of Shama’s jewelry is made with special love & care which tells a story of her unforgettable memories. She had to overcome such an enormous shock of loosing someone very special in her family & she is still trying to accomplish something that gives her a positive energy & most of all connect people to one another in special ways with her creations.She is blessed with a wonderful family with a beautiful child & a wonderful husband Mashuk Rahman who is a Musician & a graceful parents Mr. & Mrs. M. Allum. The jewelry artist’s full name is Shamsia Mahmud (Shama).



Shama loves to create elegant unique design very delicately with enthusiastic color’s which creates fervent energy in mind. She is a compassionate & creative person. Shama’s style is the manifestation of her strong, imaginative spirit. As a child artist Shama contributed her drawing at Shankar’s International Children’s Competition (SICC) in New Delhi, India.She took drawings, paintings, crafts, and costume designing at a her very early age, this compulsions eventually lead her to participate at the Art exhibition 1988 & 1990 held at Sonargoan Hotel Dhaka which was supervised & organized by the Sculptor & Painter of Fine Arts Mr.Anwar Jahan. Shama has self taught artistic skill and Also trained in oil painting for a short period of time by the Artist Anwar Jahan during her teen age around late 80’s. Shama has always been intrigued by art history and designing unique jewelry, enthralled by fashion. Bold colors & Contemporary style, modern design, curves & shapes simply fascinates her.

Shama was responsible to coordinate & organize fashion show, onstage drama during mid 90’s where numerous people were involved to bring their contributions together and she managed the whole team with her outstanding organizing skill. Shama's constructive new ideas, organizing skill, strong determination & honest effort helped to arrange multicultural program several times at Mankato/Minnesota State University. She also represented South-Asian countries cultural diversity at Winona middle & Senior school, Minnesota.

Shama likes photography & she has keen interest on cooking & enjoys displaying food as art. She praises artistic values with lots of respect & loves to add personal touch to an exclusive selection of designs. Currently she is living at Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA (since 1992) and is planning to pursue jewelry designing on 22k gold with gemstone & pearl. Shama loves to collect stones, pearls and beads and bring them together to make interesting creations for others to wear her creations. Many people admired her pieces of her jewelry & artistic values. Shama finds intrinsic beauty in the many objects & she expresses the meaning in her own artistic way to connect people to one another in special ways. The strong, uplifting spirit of Shama is evident in her art and in her life.

Shama takes personal order according to the customers personal choice & she creates unique exclusive design jewelry of 22k gold/Pearl/Gem stone for wedding or any other custom requests.
Soon she will be able to sell the pieces she created.
